Parabilis Medicines raised $770.5M in the biggest biotech IPO of 2026, backed by a Regeneron private placement deal
15 Jun 2026

On June 11th, Parabilis Medicines walked onto public markets and collected $770.5m. The timing is notable. For much of the past three years, institutional investors had grown cool on biotech listings, put off by falling valuations and a string of underwhelming debuts. A raise of this size, at this moment, suggests something is shifting.
The Cambridge, Massachusetts company did not arrive unaided. Alongside the initial public offering, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals took an approximately $75m equity stake through a private placement. That deal flows from a collaboration the two companies agreed in May 2026. Regeneron's entry at the precise moment of Parabilis's debut served a useful signalling function: large strategics do not typically write cheques into firms they expect to stumble.
Parabilis's listing sits within a broader pattern. Across the first quarter of 2026, the biotech sector recorded 19 exits worth $13.3bn in aggregate, the highest exit value since the final quarter of 2021. Firms that had held assets through the lean years are now finding buyers and public windows willing to absorb them.
Whether this recovery proves durable is the harder question. A market that reopens too quickly can absorb capital poorly, with weak companies pricing alongside strong ones. Several late-stage private biotechs are widely expected to file registration documents in the second half of the year. A crowded calendar of listings would test how deep investor appetite really runs.
For now, the structural logic is encouraging. Stronger exits attract fresh venture funding. Fresh venture funding supports earlier-stage clinical programmes. Those programmes, if successful, eventually yield therapies for patients who lack good options. The chain is long and frequently breaks, but capital conditions at the front end matter enormously to what emerges at the other.
Parabilis has set a high marker for 2026. Others will try to clear it.
