Marianna Weener is part of the research team at Mass Eye and Ear’s Ocular Genomics Institute at Harvard Medical School, where she contributes to the development of gene therapies for rare genetic eye disorders. She brings over 15 years of clinical and research experience, with a strong focus on patient care and therapeutic innovation.

Marianna has led both natural history and interventional clinical trials for conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt disease, and Usher syndrome. Her current work explores precise and gene-agnostic treatment approaches and their effectiveness in improving outcomes.
